So anybody happy with Global Economy yet? How is this a good idea for America? We are borrowing money from countries and giving it away to others in unbelievable amounts. Now we are fueling the booming ecomonies of China and India through our ways of shippingd jobs overseas. They are now consuming oil at an incredible rate and that is partly, and becoming the biggest reason, our economy is crumbling all around us. If gas prices rise much higher our entire way of life will come to a halt. And it is all the fault of this insane Global Economy idea. Can somebody please explain what positives there are in this idea? And are they really worth our way of life?

Democratic candidate Barack Obama told voters Saturday he would push an aggressive economic agenda as president to help the middle-class. The public splits between McCain and Obama as to who could handle Iraq best, but Obama is viewed as the one best to handle the economy. Obama promised to cut taxes for the middle class, raise taxes on the wealthy, pour money into "green energy," and require employers to set up retirement savings plans for their workers.Speaking to about 200 people in Wayne, a Philadelphia suburb, Obama said he would take a much more hands-on approach than would McCain. He again criticized McCain's proposal for a temporary halt in the federal gasoline tax. I think that as long as the debate is around the economy then will will more than likely have the first African American President, bu the moment it shifts or heads completely in the direction of the war in Iraq or a potential war with Iran then we will end up with the oldest President ever elected.

An international smuggling ring that sold bomb-related parts to Libya, Iran and North Korea also managed to acquire blueprints for an advanced nuclear weapon, according to a draft report by a former top U.N. arms inspector.The drawings, discovered in 2006 on computers owned by Swiss businessmen, included essential details for building a compact nuclear device that could be fitted on a type of ballistic missile used by Iran and more than a dozen developing countries, the report states. Oh but Iran has peaceful nuclear ambitions, if this isn't a red flag I don't know what is. Are we just going to wait until the attack someone probably Isreal with a nuclear wepon before we act? Sure we made mistakes with Iraq but th7at doesn't mean this would be a mistake. Iran continues to attack US troops in Iraq and has been and is developing nuclear weapons, no doubt about it!

Afghanistan Threatens Attacks against Militants in Pakistan

Afghan President Hamid Karzai threatened Sunday to send Afghan troops across the border to fight militants in Pakistan. Karzai said Afghanistan has the right to self defense.Karzai warned Pakistan-based Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud that Afghan forces would target him on his home turf. He is suspected in last year's assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.Karzai has long pleaded for Pakistan and international forces to confront militants in Pakistan, but has never before said he would send Afghan troops across the border.U.S. officials have increased their warnings in recent weeks that the Afghan conflict will drag on for years unless militant safe havens in Pakistan are taken out. Military officials say counterinsurgency campaigns are extremely difficult to win when militants have safe areas where they can train, recruit and stockpile supplies. Man the middle east just gets better and better everyday.

Sad News- Tim Russert Passed Away

Tim Russert the moderator of Meet the Press has died. He had a sudden massive heart attack when cholesterol plaque ruptured in an artery, causing sudden coronary thrombosis. He was only 58 years old. Timothy John Russert Jr. was born in Buffalo on May 7, 1950. He was a graduate of Canisius High School, John Carroll University and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He was a member of the bar in New York and Washington, D.C. Russert was to have received a lifetime achievement award from the Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University on June 23. The school said the award would be presented posthumously. Russert, who received 48 honorary doctorates, won countless other awards for excellence during his career, including the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association, the John Peter Zenger Freedom of the Press Award, the American Legion Journalism Award, the Veterans of Foreign Wars News Media Award, the Congressional Medal of Honor Society Journalism Award, the Allen H. Neuharth Award for Excellence in Journalism, the David Brinkley Award for Excellence in Communication and the Catholic Academy for Communication’s Gabriel Award. He was a member of the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame and a member of the board of directors of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.
He was a trustee of the Freedom Forum’s Newseum and a member of the board of directors of the Greater Washington Boys and Girls Club and America’s Promise — Alliance for Youth. RIP Mr. Russert.

Ron Pual to End Campaign

Big suprise!!!! Ron Paul formerly ends his campaign tonight. Can someone find out why this is news? He will nstead turn his efforts to get more liberterian-leaning Rebublicans to public office around the country. Supporters have pushed for a speaking role for him at the Republican National Convention in September in St. Paul, Minn.
Paul has said he won't endorse Sen. John McCain, the likely GOP presidential nominee. Well we can all breathe easier now that he is out of the race and we can focus our attentions elsewhere oh wait a minute he wasn't even close to the number of delegate needed for the nomination again I say why is this news?

Fox News is Awful

Fox news continues to pump out garbage. The "News" stations latest is a TV graphic that read ‘Outraged liberals: Stop picking on Obama’s baby mama’ during a discussion that involved the ridiculous Michelle Malkin. They are continually racist and unbelievably outrageous. During a Hannity and Colmes recently Sean Hannity repeatedly asked a friend of OJ simpson if he thought OJ killed Ron and Nicole which on the surface doesn't seem all that bad except for the fact that they were supposed to be talking about the Spike Lee, Clint Eastwood spat. And I can't for the life of me figure out what the hell Greta Van Susteren is doing on TV. And do I have to say anything about Bill O'rielly?

Barack on a two week sweep in GOP heartland

Barack Obama is on the offensive hitting McCain in GOP states by tying him with Bush and the soaring gas prices. With the Iraq War seeming to be going in our favor Obama is trying to attack McCain on what is seen as his weaker issues. Obama will need to further push the gas prices and the slumping economy and stay far away from Iraq. I don't beleive however calling a McCain victory, Bushes third term will work. McCain has voted 90% of the time with the President but I would argue they are on what would be consider GOP ideals and that most Republicans, not all but most would vote the same way. I think Obama needs to really get down to what change means and lay out a plan that everyone can read. Let me know what CHANGE is and what exactly it means.

Oil Prices

Saudi Arabia is calling for a summit between oil producing countries and consumer states to discuss soaring energy prices. They also said they will work with OPEC to "guarantee the availability of oil supplies now and in the future." Hopefully this will translate into something we can see here in the States. The Saudi’s also said it will provide additional oil to all of the countries it currently provides for to ensure they get the oil they need. Many experts believe the meeting will have little affect on the current market. However there is reason to have hope as Saudi Arabia is believed to be the only major oil producer with the ability to increase production. The Saudi’s also said there was no reason for the current high prices for oil and are worried the worlds demand will weaken and hurt them in the long run. So at the very least they are concerned and concern causes action, let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Gas hits a four dollar national average. And the reason for that isn’t as simple as supply versus demand for oil. Sure that plays its role but the real reason is Wall Street and these speculators that drive the price higher and higher and pocket huge amounts of money off of this. Our country is being buried by speculators!!! It is absurd to have something as vital to the economy and more importantly to our everyday lives on such a money hungry platform that allows for the price to be set by speculation, it is disgusting. Everyone needs to drive, we have to make money and we are to spaced out in our everyday activities to just walk or ride a bike. We need a new source of power and I love the idea of the Hydrogen Fuel Cell- give me one!!!

They can't even settle the presumptive candidate issue, which shouldn't be one because he won he has more votes. Just think this is very strange, what could they be talking about? Well kinda she still would like to be Vice President. Which isn’t as bad as having her be the actual President, but she would be one sniper bullet away from it. And I bet I know who would be holding the gun, Bill. But I am glad that she won’t be President and I don’t see how Obama can run on a “Change” platform and put someone who’s husband has already served as President as the Vice President. Personally I am sick of the Bush’s and the Clinton’s, Celtics and Lakers like domination of the White House over the last few years, give someone else a turn.
