Isn't Fear the Republicans Card?

All you here Democrats say is that Republicans use fear as a political tool. And now you see Democrats using the same political tool with this financial market failure. We are being told we must act now and if we don't..... sure Bush has said it but so have the Democrats and they are the ones pushing for this bailout to be completed. You know what we should do is nothing. People weren't forced to buy mortgages they couldn't afford nobody made these banks give loans to people who couldn't afford it. It is supposed to be a free market and in a free market as I have said before there is failure. Government intervention is not the answer. Democrats are trying to use fear as a tactic to get this bailout passed.

We have a pretty good discussion going on about this here.

Nancy Pelosi's Comments on the Bailout

Bailout fails in the House

WASHINGTON - The House on Monday defeated a $700 billion emergency rescue for the nation's financial system, ignoring urgent warnings from President Bush and congressional leaders of both parties that the economy could nosedive into recession without it.

Stocks plummeted on Wall Street even before the 228-205 vote to reject the bill was announced on the House floor.

Churches Backing Candidates?

WEST BEND, Wis. - Pastor Luke Emrich prepared his sermon this week knowing his remarks could invite an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service. But that was the whole point, so Emrich forged ahead with his message: Thou shalt vote according to the Scriptures.

There are some churches taking on politics from behind the pulpit. I think this is completely uncalled for and way out of bounds. I agree that there should be a separation of church and state. That is part of the reason I was so outraged at Rev. Wright. He shouldn't nor should any preacher use the church to preach politics. Read More Here.

Another Bank going under?

How big is this banking issue going to get? Another one of the nations biggest banks, Wachovia is discussing a merger with several suitors. Will this continue to climb and hit all of the major banks. Will a bailout or any other kind of plan save the economy? I personally think bailout is fundamentally socialist and pretty much against our free market society. We need to let some of these companies that made bad choices fail. Our economy goes through ups and downs all of the time and if we let it run its course I am positive the economy will rebound, it always does. Will people be hurt or lose money and struggle, yes. If you don't like our free market setup move to a country without one. There is enormous risks in a free market society but there are also huge benefits. I have said it before and I will say it again, the problem with a free society is that it is so hard to control. I am the first to admit that none of these bank mergers and buyouts is good for anybody but we need to learn from these failures and not set the standard that if companies adopt backward standards that they have a safety net. Failure is a big part of a free market. If there wasn't failure we wouldn't enjoy the huge successes that come from the free market.

What is the Deal?

NEW YORK - A senior American diplomat plans to visit North Korea in the coming week in a bid to salvage a faltering international effort to get the communist country to give up nuclear weapons, U.S. officials said Saturday.

Why do these countries North Korea and Iran continue to try to provoke a response from the US? Reason for concern the North Koreans have restarted their nuclear reactors. Read the full story here.

Progress is being made on the huge bailout deal

WASHINGTON - Lawmakers say they're making progress and hope to reach an agreement over the weekend on a $700 billion government bailout to rescue Wall Street bankers from the bad loans that threaten to derail the economy and send it into a deep and long depression.

I am just glad they aren't rushing this and they are takingthe time to work it out. They are eyeing Sundays the day that it will be completed. Read the Full Story Here.

Presidential Debate....First One in the Bag!!!

I think that this first one has to go down as a tie. And Obama should mark it as a loss. I really expected him to destroy McCain but I don't think he did and McCain keeping it close needs to be a loss for Obama. Obama agreed far too much with McCain.

He needs to hit him harder and draw stronger and more clear lines. Obama has to hit McCain harder on his stengths and even harder on his own. McCain just needs to keep it close and he will sway a lot of independents. I think McCain stuck to his gameplan and didn't get lost in his points. He was very clear and did an overall good job. I think that is all he has to do is be good, not great.

President makes bailout Plea!!!

WASHINGTON - President Bush scrambled Friday to bring rebellious members of his own party behind a multibillion-dollar government bailout of the financial system amid bitter political recriminations from both Democrats and Republicans over collapsed negotiations. Read Full Story Here.

Is there going to be a debate tonight?

That is the question and so far no word but here is the latest. Read it here.

And here is what both had to say last night.

Why Bailout has been stalled

This is a fairly informative article giving a good outline as to what happened.
WASHINGTON - The Bush administration’s $700 billion plan to bail out the battered financial services industry has been sidetracked by harsh Republican Party in-fighting and it’s uncertain how many GOP lawmakers will even take part in Friday’s resumption of closed-door negotiations in Congress. Bailout Appears to be nearing completion.

So they are hammering out a deal and man good thing McCain postponed his campaign to get it done. Find out more HERE.

McCain suspends the campaign?

McCain suspends the campaign? Is he suspending the campaign and cancelling his appearance with David Letterman because of the economic crisis? I would say yes and I would argue not to rush to Washington and save America but becase he doesn't know how to respond to the questions about the economy. He wants to postpone the debate on Friday this is another sign he has no answers and doesn't know how to respond. And in case you didn't see it here is Letterman's response to McCain cancelling his appearance.

Democrats want stake in companies!!!!

Democrats want stake in companies the government helps bailout. As if the bailout wasn't bad enough lets go ahead and make it socialist on top of it. This is absurd. You know why a free society is so hard, because you can't control it!!! This is controlling our free society therefore taking some freedom. There are ups and downs in a free market that is why it is a free market. The government should not step in and do you want to know why? Because it is socialism. But you people probably want it you want the government to do everything else. Read more here.

Palin and Troopergate

I just don't know what to believe with this story. Is it possible that she fired her public safety commissioner because he didn't fire her exbrother-in-law, sure. But it's also possible that she didn't and the facts need to be worked through in this case. Read more here.

Iraq War Veteran's Message to Barack Obama

Whatever your beliefs and whatever side of the aisle you are on I don't think you can argue this is a very moving video and I would say characterizes the majority of our US Troops. Check it out here as one of those brave troops tells you how he feels.

Palin still getting a warm welcome to the Big Time!!!

They are going to try hard to find something that she has done that hasn't been up to par. But as you probably already know they all do things that aren't up to par all of them have something that they have done that isn't perfect. After all they are human and deserve the right to make mistakes and have views that go outside of whatever party they belong to. Anyway here is a little on her record.

Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews Have been demoted!!!!

That's right the have been reassigned for the coverage of the '08 election. I personally love the fact that Olbermann speaks his mind even though I don't always agree. But he should keep it nutrual when covering the conventions and clearly didn't save that for Countdown. Read more about the demotions here

The Ballot: Heart doesn't heart McCain/Palin

I think that this kind of garbage is completely wasteful use of time. You create music and put it out for public consumption. Because a candidate or anybody for that matter uses your music doesn't mean you support them or share their views.

More Communism

For a country that promotes and wants to spread sometimes by force our democratic views we sure practice a lot of socialist ideas and this Fannie Mae Freddie Mac bailout is another example of that.

Hooray Socialism!!!!!

Wow the nonstop coverage of the non event that was hurricane Gustav was just ridiculous. What did the people of New Orleans and the Gulf do before Katrina? Just because Katrina caused so much destruction doesn't mean every hurricane will. So why the nonstop coverage? I think it was beacuse of all of the organized evacuations and government intervention prior to the storm. What do you people want? Do you want the government to do everything for you? Maybe they should spoon feed you and wipe your ass too. A hurricane is coming so leave and don't give me that we don't have a way garbage. All of the hospitals and nursing home facilities most cetainly do have the resources to move those who can't move themselves. The rest start walking if you don't have a way, I mean yeah it might not be what you want to do but do you want to live or not? Everyone after Katrina was praising Cuba's evacuation and emergency responses. Do you know they practices Socialism and they don't have a choice. I want my freedom not the government running everyting for me. So you go ahead and rely on the government and feed the machine and give up your freedom because I refuse to do so.

A little more about Sarah Palin and the Opening to the GOP Convention

Just a little more about Palin and her pregnant daughter. I agree with Obama the children should be off limits but its his own supporters who fan these flames. Welcome to the public eye.
