The world's savior is here!!!

The world's savior is here!!! Don't you think that after hearing this speech Obama gave that Muslims and the Middle East as a whole are not sarcastically saying the same thing? He must not get it, they hate us for involving ourselves in their business and for our arrogant ways. So he goes over there and lays out, arrogantly how we are going to move forward in their affairs. And this quote is just lovely, "And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear," where in the hell does it say to do that as president?

I understand what he is trying to do and how he wants to change the view other countries have of America but he can't act like we don't have our own interests in mind. And if he truly doesn't have America's interests first then there is a problem with our president. It is hard to explain this away "Just as Muslims do not fit a crude stereotype, America is not the crude stereotype of a self-interested empire." we have and we always, hopefully always will do things that are in our best interests first and foremost. It is silly to make such a speech and in it say we are not a self-interested empire, because I think the reason he made the speech was for our own self-interest. I did find very amusing and agree with his criticisms of Israel. The only solution that will end the violence is a two state solution. But in order for us to help achieve that we need to get tougher with Israel, like the brother who does something stupid point it out then help them make the situation better. I understand the presidents intentions but I think a couple of the statements he made are going to be seen as a little disingenuous.

Ya know how I know this was a good speech. First President ever to blame Israel for being d-bags too. Both sides treat each other like shit and each side thinks they are angels doing God's work. The U.S. only backs Israel because there is millions of voting Jews. Now if Muslims and Arabs were a bigger population in the U.S. then Jews, who do you think we would back?

It takes a little more than that for me. I agree it was very nice to hear but he as he usually does he paints a beautiful picture without giving any details on how he plans to get from a to b. Just we need to get to b.

I would argue it has more to do with America's involvement in creating Israel as it is today and our inability and the inability of everyone else involved to realize that taking land from someone and giving it to someone else(Jews) wasn't the best idea for a post word war world. And some people might grow to resent them and everyone involved.
